An Open Letter to SMC, Family, Friends and my Clemson Family

Dear SMC, Family, Friends and my Clemson Family,

Well, here we are. Tomorrow begins a new chapter in my college career at Clemson University.

Two years ago, I set out at Spartanburg Methodist College with a vision to do what I had to do to get to this juncture in my college career and it has been a learning and enjoyable experience. My dad asked me over the summer if I had the opportunity to change anything that has happened in my life the last two years, would I? The answer is a resounding no. Have I made mistakes along the way? Yes, but from the relationships I've developed with the fine people there who have been there since the day I stepped on campus, to making the Dean's List twice, I could not have asked for a better first two years. I want to again thank everyone at Spartanburg Methodist College for taking a chance on me and allowing this dream to become a reality. I will miss all of you this year and I wish you nothing but the best and I know we will all keep in touch. I will always be a Pioneer.

Everything that has happened since 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 has been absolutely incredible to see, and I am so blessed by God to have a wonderful support system of family and friends that believe fully in my vision and is always there for me. Outside of God and SMC, you are the reason I am moving on to Clemson tomorrow and I again want to thank you for all of your continued support of me. I am forever grateful. I can't wait to see some of you in Clemson real soon.

To my Clemson family, I can't wait to meet all of you and start making memories with you together. I believe the Clemson family is a tremendous group of individuals, from all different walks of life that care for each other and love each other and I can't wait to be apart of it. Some of you I have already had the pleasure of meeting you, whether at transfer orientation back on June 21, or on social media. I can't wait to reunite with old friends and make new ones as I continue to reach for new heights at my new home at Clemson. I am excited and nervous about this new chapter and I know this new journey will certainly not be easy, there will be failure, and there will be success, but I know that with God's help, all things are possible and all things work out for those who love the Lord.

This is the honor and privilege of my life to attend this fine University and I am thankful and grateful for the support and this opportunity and I'm glad that you've chosen to be apart of it. My goals at Clemson will be simple:
1. Continue to believe in and improve my plan to thrive at a high level academically and make the Dean's List or President's List multiple times.
2. Continue to build relationships with people who will support the vision that I have and will be there for me.
3. Take time to enjoy the benefits and take advantage of the opportunities available that come with being a student at Clemson University.

I ask for your prayers for me and all college students, not just at Clemson, but all over the country, that we would do the things we need to do to be successful. I hope that I have inspired someone throughout this entire experience to never stop chasing your dreams and to keep striving to be the very best version of yourself that you can be. Please don't think you have to be perfect, because I am most certainly not, nor is anyone else. I would like to end with a Bible verse from Matthew 5:16 (KJV). It says, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." I tweeted this verse out two years ago the night before I left for Spartanburg Methodist College.

Two years later, the light is shining as brightly as it ever has and it is my intention to continue to glorify Him. Here's to the next chapter.

God Bless and Go Tigers and as always, til next time, More Life and More Blessings to you all.
Brandon
